Dallas Mavericks: 20-1

Here’s a scary idea, through Tim MacMahon of ESPNDallas.com:”You don’t get any better than Rick Carlisle offense, but Carlisle’s offense got a lot better this offseason.”
Drink this one in.
Last season, Carlisle’s Mavs tied for second in the league having an offensive rating of 109, decimal points behind the NBA-best Los Angeles Clippers, according to NBA.com. Dallas brought to soften the blow, while the reduction of genius sniper and facilitator Jose Calderon will sting. And Monta Ellis can consume a few possessions also, which will not be a bad thing for the Mavs’ assault.
The boost comes in Chandler Parsons, who’ll slot in small forward to consume nearly all Vince Carter and the wing minutes Shawn Marion shared. Tyson Chandler mans the center of everything should be an improved defense.
What Dallas has is fragile. It depends upon the continuing and health potency of Dirk Nowitzki, around whom an offense can nevertheless be built. That is a remarkable thing to say about a participant, however Nowitzki is, himself, rather impressive.
Provided that he is ready to stand erect, he’ll be a defense-shredder from the post. And the rest of the Mavs will play him off as Carlisle pulls the strings.
Doubt this set of vets.
